sunday snippet
Mar. 8th, 2020 02:54 pmBeen busy lately, and unfocused! But I finally circled back to my canon-divergent fix-it project this week, which means I have some very new and unedited morsels.
Naming the project has been a struggle! But I also have a working title now, so here's a snippet from Second Chances.
“You would abandon your men?” Kunlun shouts, striking at him weakly, boots dragging as he tries to twist in Shen Wei’s grip.
But Shen Wei doesn’t bother answering him, just tightens his hold as they stumble around corpses—more important to focus on the path ahead and the weight in his hands, the shadow-flicker of combat around them and the threat of earth-churned mud pulling at their feet.
“Shen Wei!” screams Kunlun, and breaks off into a fit of wet coughing that nearly unbalances them both.
